Four Decades of Precision Spring Manufacturing

Tri-Matic Spring was founded in December of 1982 by Marvin Collier. After the spring company he worked for closed its doors, Marvin drew on a lifetime of manufacturing knowledge and set out to build a company of his own, with little more than determination and the backing of his family.

The first shop was a garage off Highway 69, equipped with a single coiler, one grinder he and his son Jeff built by hand, and a cook stove to heat-treat parts. With one employee and one customer, Marvin set a goal: to one day own a successful spring company.

That company outgrew the garage within a few years. In 1985, with help from the Savannah and Hardin County industrial team, Tri-Matic moved into the Savannah Industrial Park. It has expanded many times since then, including a 14,000 square foot building to keep pace with demand.

Marvin led Tri-Matic for 21 years before passing the business to his son Jeff, who had worked alongside him since 1986. Today, Jeff and his wife Teresa run the company as a second-generation, family-owned business that carries forward the same standards, work ethic, and faith that built it.
